Hollywood actor Nicolas Cage has filed for an annulment just four days after getting married to girlfriend Erika Koike.
Both of them had been together since April 2018 but Nicolas had a sudden change of heart after their Las Vegas wedding, with him allegedly stating that 34-year-old Erika was ‘looking to take his money’.
Cage was believed to be ‘in a sorry state’ when seen applying for a marriage licence at the Clark County Court House Marriage Licence Bureau in downtown Vegas on Saturday.
The 55-year-old actor submitted an application on Wednesday, according to court records. Cage and Koike, a makeup artist, filed for a marriage license last Saturday and received their marriage certificate the same day, US court records show.
This follows footage that was published by the Daily Mail of Cage shouting that make-up artist Erika was going to “take all of his money” as they obtained their marriage licence.
One witness said the actor looked “very out of it” and was “most likely drunk”.
At one point, the nephew of The Godfather film director Francis Ford Coppola raised his voice and started shouting about how Koike’s “boyfriend” was a drug dealer and that “he isn’t doing it” appearing to refer to getting a marriage license.
The video shows Koike, 34, calmly telling Cage: “I never asked you to do this’, before he smiles and gently pushes her through the hallway, saying ‘come on, let’s go”.
The witness added: “They started by filling the application in one of the machines.
“The whole time he was yelling ‘she is going to take all my money’ and ‘her ex is a druggy, her ex is a druggy’.”
The woman only kept saying ‘Baby, I am not asking you to do this’.”
They added as the couple was making such a scene, they were taken into a private room. Cage and Koike, who was previously married, started dating around a year ago.
This is the fourth time Nicolas had tied the knot, after marrying Patricia Arquette in 1995.
They split in 2001 but a year later, Cage was marrying Lisa Marie Presley but that lasted just three months.
He had more success with third wife Alice Kim, who he married in 2004 and remained with until 2016.
They had a son, Kal-El, in 2005, while Nicolas also has a 28-year-old son, Weston, from a relationship with Christina Fulton.
Cage also has a son, Weston, 28, from his relationship with actress Christina Fulton.
In 1995, he won a Best Actor Academy Award for his role in the drama Leaving Las Vegas.
He starred as a Hollywood screenwriter, Ben Sanderson, who lost everything because of his alcoholism and decides to drink himself to death in Vegas.
